Just think, you’re with your loved one in the Canadian Rockies. You wake up, get dressed and go out for a nice breakfast somewhere in Banff, perhaps Touloulou’s! This whole time you’re shaking because you have that little square box in your right jacket pocket and you’re just HOPING your partner doesn’t notice it.
You finish breakfast and make your way to Sulphur mountain and begin your 5.4km journey up the mountain. Your hands begin to clam up, not just because the hike is steep, but also because you know your life is about to change for the better. You finally make it to the top, they ask to stop for a bite to eat at the restaurant but little do they know that you’ve already made a reservation for an hour later. So you say let’s just get to the end of the trail and then we’ll eat.
You keep walking to the end of the trail. You stop at one of the view points and just stand there enjoying the views of the mountain ranges all around you. You both don’t say a word. Eventually you decide you should get a photo of the two of you. You spot someone in a red hat who is carrying a camera, you pull out your phone and nicely ask this girl to take a photo of the two of you. She gladly accepts, takes one of the two of you looking at the girl and then you turn towards you partner, and get down on one knee. Your partner is confused and just stares at you, the girl in the red hat starts taking photos with her camera instead.
Then comes the big question.
They are in utter shock and can’t stop smiling, hugs you, and eventually says yes!! They completely forgot that you asked someone else to take your photo.
The girl in the red hat just smiles and feels so full of love for the two of you. She continues to take photos of all the happiness and love between the two of you. Once everything has settled down, you tell your partner that you hired a photographer to capture this precious moment in both of your lives. I introduce myself, say congratulations!! And ask to look at the beautiful ring! We then start your engagement session.
First off, congratulations! Now what? Ring? Date? Location? Not sure about the date or location yet? Not a problem!
I’m here to help you through it all! We’ll first choose a location – somewhere private and more intimate away from the crowds? Or front and center in Lake Louise? We can make it happen! Once we have the location figured out, we can choose the best date and time to be there, when there should be less crowds, every year the crowds just get bigger and bigger, so it’s hard to tell sometimes! There are so many amazing areas in Banff National Park and Yoho National Park! Maybe you want to propose on Emerald lake, or the top of Big Beehive in Lake Louise. Maybe you want to plan the most epic proposal and take a helicopter to a remote area in the mountains! However you want to propose in Banff, I’ll help you capture it!
We’ll go over of how we’re going to meet. If you’d rather come up and ask me to take a photo of the two of you, or we spot each other and give a little signal (like a discrete thumbs up) and I take your photos from afar – there are so many people taking landscape photos that they wouldn’t even notice!
Feeling nervous and have questions and want to go over everything a couple times? No problem! You will have full access to my e-mail, messenger, or phone number. Whatever you prefer! I’ll be there with you every step of the way and will answer any and all your questions. Get your proposal in Banff photographed!
